US Seizes Domain Linked to Burma Crypto Scam Compound
The U.S. Department of Justice has seized tickmilleas.com, a fraudulent cryptocurrency website operated from Burma's Tai Chang compound. The site targeted U.S. investors with fabricated dashboards, false profits, and misleading deposit schemes to siphon crypto funds.
Google, Apple, and Meta have taken action against related apps and social media accounts, shutting down over 2,000 profiles tied to the scam. The operation has connections to sanctioned groups, including the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army and Trans Asia International Holding Group, both linked to organized crime in Southeast Asia.
Investigators uncovered a coordinated fraud scheme where victims were lured into depositing money that was then diverted by scammers. The compound's polished façade belied its criminal underpinnings, highlighting the growing sophistication of overseas crypto fraud networks.
